In today’s world, it’s so easy to lose sight of who you really are, to forget what you really believe in and to remember to stand up for what’s right. I know I struggle daily with giving myself some credit. I have to remind myself that it’s ok not to be perfect. That I’m not a failure because I had to miss my daughter’s school event because I had an important deadline at work.I tell myself often, “You are good enough, keep it up.”
I learned early in my role as an employee, mommy, and wife, that some “me” time was imperative if I was going to be successful.
The advice that follows took me 7 years of marriage, 2 kids, and countless meltdowns to figure out. So follow my lead on this one, I promise you’ll thank me.
Find your happy place.
Once a week, do one small activity for yourself.
Once a month treat yourself to a pampering.
Find a hobby and allow yourself time to enjoy that hobby.
Ask for help.
Let your emotions out.
It’s important to disconnect from the instant fast-paced world in which we live. So today, take off your cape, take some time and focus on you for at least 20 minutes.
What do you do during your “me” time?
What do you do to love yourself?
